Description
This project consisted of designing three reservoirs in Delaware County and a portion of Union County with the combined storage capacity of 10.6 billion gallons. The reservoirs will provide the water supply required to meet the long-term needs for the communities served by Columbus Division of Water and Del-Co Water Company, Inc. Moody Engineering was involved in the design of Reservoir 1.
Serving as a sub-consultant to ms consultants, ME’s engineering activities included subsurface drainage investigation to identify all existing drainage features including field tile and ditches in conflict with the proposed reservoir footprint. A perimeter ditch routing was established to convey surface water and field tile drainage around the perimeter of the reservoir. The project included 19,892 LF of two stage drainage ditch with outlets for the intercepted tile runs.
ME also participated in the development of a new park facility to be operated by Delaware County Preservation Parks on a portion of the reservoir property.
