Description
Moody Engineering provided the civil engineering for the Suffield Fire Station. The existing structure was removed from the site and the new fire house was constructed in its place. This was located in a rural area which led to challenges with making utility connections and providing sufficient room on site for a sanitary leach field. Ultimately, the leach field installed also picked up the existing city structure adjacent to the new fire house due to issues with its septic system. Due to the site being on a water well, a 30,000 gallon cistern was installed to meet the fire department needs. Stormwater, sanitary and water service improvements were made during this project. Furthermore, parking and emergency vehicle apron were also installed on-site.
