Description
Moody Engineering provided civil site design services for the new Parsons Avenue Branch Library. The new 18,640 SF branch library is located along Parsons Avenue, re-establishing the commercial building presence of this major corridor. Moody Engineering provided overall site development and permitting as well as City of Columbus Drawer E, stormwater and water services plans. The site improvements required City of Columbus zoning permits and filing an Notice of Intent (NOI).

Key Challenges
This project required community outreach, and extensive coordination with utility providers in order to relocate existing lines around the proposed improvements. Development of the selected side included Right-of-Way, vacation to facilitate construction over an existing alley, stormwater improvement plans, and Dr-E plans were prepared as public improvement plans under the Public Private Partnership process. Right-of-Way improvements included new sidewalk along Parsons Ave that accommodated access to the zero setback building while maintaining a PAR and incorporated streetscaping improvements including brick pavers and tree gates.
