Description
The Cleveland School of the Arts is strategically located adjacent to University Circle in the heart of Cleveland’s cultural center. A total of 775 students from grades nine through twelve share the site with John Hay High School. The site design complements the contemporary design of the new 126,126 SF School of the Arts that intentionally contrasts with the older high school building. Together, they form a new gateway facing the major intersection of Stearns Road and Carnegie Avenue.

Moody Engineering provided overall site development and permitting including City of Cleveland site development permitting, and building permitting for stormwater and water services plans. These site improvements required City of Cleveland site zoning permits and filing a Notice of Intent (NOI), Permit to Install (PTI) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to the Ohio EPA. The building and site were designed with sustainability as a driving factor with LEED silver as a goal.
