Description
This project included creating a new trailer storage lot adjacent to the previously developed Midwest Consolidation Center.  The lot included parking for 156 trailers and upgraded site circulation to provide access between the new spaces on the north side of the warehouse and the existing dock on the south side. Traffic circulation from an earlier study was validated to check turning radii and clearances. The existing soils were evaluated based on the expected traffic loading and recommended for cement stabilization treatment to obtain the most efficient and durable pavement section. Site detention was configured to meet the requirements of the Ohio EPA and the Troy. The project was performed on an extremely accelerated schedule with design commencing in July and construction underway in September to facilitate completion of pavement by the asphalt plant closure in November.
